Why Is My Post Failing? Common Publish Errors & Fixes
When a post fails to publish, LinkySend shows a specific error code in Dashboard → Posts. Most errors fall into a few common categories with straightforward fixes.
Error: Account disconnected or token expired
Fix: Go to Dashboard → Accounts and reconnect the affected network. See "How to Fix a Disconnected Social Network Account" for detailed steps.
Error: Unsupported video format or resolution
LinkySend supports MP4, MOV, AVI, and WebM. Minimum resolution: 720p. Maximum: 4K (3840×2160). For Instagram Reels: aspect ratio must be 9:16. For TikTok: 9:16 strongly recommended. If your video was transcoded, re-upload the original source file.
- 1Accepted formats: MP4 (recommended), MOV, AVI, WebM.
- 2Maximum file size: 4 GB per video.
- 3Instagram Reels max duration: 90 seconds.
- 4TikTok max duration: 10 minutes.
- 5YouTube: no hard duration limit.
- 6LinkedIn video max: 10 minutes.
Error: Caption too long
Each platform has different caption limits. Instagram: 2,200 characters. TikTok: 2,200 characters. X/Twitter: 280 characters. LinkedIn: 3,000 characters. Threads: 500 characters. LinkySend shows a character count for each platform in the composer — a red counter means you're over the limit for that platform.
Error: Duplicate content rejected
Some platforms (especially Instagram and TikTok) will reject content that is identical to a recently published post. If you need to repost the same content, wait at least 24 hours and modify the caption slightly. LinkySend does not control this platform-side restriction.
Error: Rate limit exceeded
Social platforms limit how many posts can be published per hour or day. Instagram allows approximately 50 published posts per day per account. TikTok limits 3-5 posts per day for newer accounts. If you hit a rate limit, LinkySend will automatically retry your post 1 hour later — you'll see a "Retrying" status in the Posts view.
FAQ
My post failed on one network but succeeded on others. Is this normal?
Yes, completely normal. Each network's API responds independently. A post can publish successfully to 5 networks and fail on 1 if that network has a specific issue (format incompatibility, rate limit, etc.). LinkySend shows per-network status for every published post.
Can I republish a failed post without retyping everything?
Yes. In Dashboard → Posts, find the failed post and click "Retry" (⟳) to attempt publishing again with the same content. If the error was temporary (like a network timeout), the retry often succeeds immediately.
